HIDDEN RISKS ABOUT MONEY!

As a Financial Management Practitioner and a life student of the concept, I have realised that as good as money and wealth are, there are inherent and unspoken risks about them.

They may be subtle but capable of causing a shipwreck of the entire prosperity and wealth of an individual.

They have wrecked even the best of people all over the world.

Make no mistakes, money is good, wealth is good, it is even a defence, but there are hidden risks and down sides I need to share. If I don’t talk about these risks, I consider it as financial malpractice in the true sense of the word.

Here are 4️⃣ of the risks:

1️⃣- Money can make you forget God. When your bills are paid and you are comfortable, it is easy to say, it’s by your effort and forget the one who gave the power to make them possible in the first place. Also, too much comfort can kill your dependence on God.

2️⃣- Money can inflate your ego. It can make you feel you are worth more than others, financially, spiritually and socially. Your network is your net worth, but your net worth is not your real worth. The Holy Writ say, trust in God and don’t be arrogant.

3️⃣- Money can make you look down on others. We begin to judge people by what they wear, what they drive and how they look.

The question is, what exactly do you have that you were not given? Why boast? Favouritism is a sin and God doesn’t rank people by their pay cheque and neither should any human do so.

4️⃣- Money can make temptation easier to act on. Sin and inappropriate behaviour gets easier when you can afford it and also fund it.

Money gives you options and these are options that broke people don’t have or won’t even consider at all.

You can also consider them as hidden dangers of being rich, so you can avoid them as you journey to your desired riches.

Life is better lived when you are rich and can meet your needs when they arise.
