I have come to realise that delayed gratification is on a spectrum and there are levels to it.

This is why your RELATIONSHIP CURRENCY must always be functional.

At every level, there is a delay of gratification that must be practised. That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t have the skill to pick the signals when someone is obviously trying to take advantage of the value you are offering and stylishly trying to guilt trip you. These are two different things.

For the people in your core that you are collaborating with, you must have an understanding of how you value one another, and this understanding is mutual and respected.
