“`OTHER AREAS OF COLLABORATION THE STATE CAN LOOK INTO.“` Part-1

Having started on a very good note, the Executive Governor of Plateau State has started collaborating with Plateau-Based Entrepreneurs from the last event of his son’s wedding, and this can be taken further.

There are alot of businesses on Plateau offering quality products and services that have not been patronised by the State Government. Instead, the State gets those products and services from outside the State.

A case in point is, there are capable Management Consultants, Training Professionals, who can handle alot of the Consultancies being given to outsiders when we can actually do the same and even better. Some of these Government Officials, collect our proposals and give jobs to their friends outside the State. When some of these Consultants from outside come, they will be looking for those based here to offer opportunities and be paying peanuts when they have been handsomely paid. This needs to change. We live here, and we pay our taxes here.

In the spirit of continued collaboration and patronage of Plateau-Based Businesses, there is a need to consider engaging those based in Jos and see the quality of their delivery.

Maybe some are being done, but more needs to be done to engage more and allow our state resources to circulate within us in Plateau State.

A good example is when training for Accounts Staff of the State Government is handled by Consultants from other States, when we have the capacity to deliver on same in Jos. Ask questions and test our capacities and records of previous jobs done.

We are hopeful this will be considered soonest.
