Now that you know the true state of your Pension Contributions into your Retirement Savings Account, what should you do?

▪︎Deliberately start planning for your retirement NOW. Infact start planning for your exit or retirement the day your Employer starts.

▪︎Deliberately start a plan for what will fund your old age life style after 60. I was speaking with a Director in Federal Civil Service yesterday, she has a year to go in service and has lost hope in the Country Nigeria and she will be relocating outside the Country immediately she retires.

▪︎Because it is almost difficult to be investment savvy at 60 due to how Civil Servants experience are, it is more likely to fall into wrong investment scheme at that age, therefore, deliberately begin to learn about Investments and start one with a little as you can.

▪︎If you are the business interest and savvy type, start a business that doesn’t violate the Civil Service rules of engagement and learn the curves of the market and terrain of the business.

▪︎Pension is meant to be drawn on a monthly basis to create a form of steady cash flow, if your salary was not enough, your Pension will definitely not be enough to cater for you.

Don’t be handicapped by a system designed to make you always come cap-in-hand or remain at apron-string.
